Minister Bartlett Urges Global Action on Digital Threats – Global Tourism Resilience Day 2026

At the 4th staging of the annual Global Tourism Resilience Day Conference and Expo in Kenya, Minister of Tourism, Hon. Edmund Bartlett, underscored the true meaning of Global Tourism Resilience Day: not ceremony, but capability. Not symbolism, but systems.

He stressed that as climate shocks, economic volatility and digital vulnerabilities reshape the global landscape, the Global South must stand united. Through strengthened South-South cooperation, shared research, policy alignment and community preparedness, tourism becomes more than an industry it becomes a framework for recovery, innovation and sustained growth.

Tourism resilience is how we protect livelihoods, secure standards and build a future that is skilled, modern and ready.
